Trip to Andersonville, GA....
I traveled from Tallahassee, FL to Americus, GA to view the Andersonville Civil War POW Camp on 7/9/06. Here are some pictures from that visit.

Providence Spring - Prisoners prayed for water and
a bolt of lightening struck this area and a spring
was found. Prisoners quoted, "God has not forgotten us!".
Looking down the east side of the camp. The white
stakes on the right represent the wall. The ones on the
left represent the "Deadline". This was an area which,
if crossed, the prisoner would be shot. Approximately 14'-16' wide.
