What a day! Not a long one as far as drive time only about 270 miles from Christianburg, VA to Gettysburg, PA. However in that short distance, I went through the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Shenandoah Valley, 2/3 or Virginia, through West Virginia (27 miles), Maryland (11 miles), and onto Gettysburg.

Had time to stop at exit 323 in Virginia (the last one) and met Roger Bauman (Lone Wolf - see picture). We had lunch and visited for about 2 hours. Roger is an old friend of mine who I've know since 1967. We went to Officer Candidate School and Germany together and have gotten together many times since. Great visit and he says hello to all our joint friends.

Here are just a few pictures of the trip to Gettysburg. I took a quick 2 hour double decker bus tour tonight. Have decided to stay two full days and three nights. Take a rest from the 7 days of constant driving. Also, I need to take enough time here to do the location justice. Will spend the whole day tomorrow on the battlefield and then Thursday in the museums. On Friday, I will start towards 5-6 battlefields in northern Virginia. Here we go.........
